So the truck is coming along, I dropped off the combat wheels I found so those will be blasted and painted. Radiator is done and the heater is next along with some lighting, we are going to try to use the military blackout lighting as turn signals.

Yeah there seems to always be something else to do. They do pop up for sale in restored condition. I saw one for sale for about what I’ve put into this one, but on the other hand I’m saving another truck  and giving my friend some work.

I’m curious about that split front bumper.  Any idea why it is designed that way?

Thats a winch bumper. Non winch trucks are single normal ones.

Ah, that makes more sense. I guess you’d want the winch mounted further back than the rest of the bumper so that you can still use the bumper to shove stuff.

For some reason I was thinking it was like the Unimog setup, where the winch can run through a channel underneath the vehicle and be pulled out the back as well, allowing the vehicle to be winched backwards instead of just forwards.
